The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has revealed that the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), which owned by alleged rapist Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, is not a member of their association.

In a statement released Thursday, CAN said while they are concerned about the rape accusations by Busola Dakolo against Fatoyinbo, they however can’t do much about it because he is not a member of their association.

“The association recognises that COZA, to the best of our knowledge, is not a member of any of the families that belong to CAN. CAN, as an association, it is equally sad that there have been recurrent allegations of rape and infidelity against some gospel ministers and other Christians as well,” the statement read.

CAN nevertheless condemned the gradually increasing sexual immorality happening in the church of God.

“While efforts must be made to get to the root of the matter through thorough investigation, the association condemns totally, any act of infidelity either by a pastor or any member of the church of God,” the association added.

“We urge all ministers of the gospel to shun all appearances of evil especially, unregulated closeness to persons in the church. Rape by every standard is sinful and an act of wickedness.”

Modele Fatoyinbo, wife of troubled man of God Biodun Fatoyinbo, has taken a dig at fair-weather friends of her husband following the shocking rape accusations against him.

Some prominent members of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), including actors Akah Nnani and Seun Ajayi have quit the church after Busola Dakolo, wife of singer Timi Dakolo accused the founder of the church of raping her when she was only 16.

But speaking Monday during a prayer fellowship at the church, Modele said she was not surprised that some fake friends of her husband have suddenly left him the wake of his woes.

She said, “I just want to tell you, pastor, because we have strangers, that on behalf of your sons and daughters. We have strangers in this house — strange sons and daughters.

“But God will close the heavens over them in the name of Jesus. You know your friends when you’re in trouble. So, we don’t want you to doubt in your heart.”

Big Brother Naija star Bamike Olawunmi popularly known as BamBam revealed she was raped by her ex-boyfriend and a spiritual leader.

“My heart has been heavy since this rape situation started. Like I feel physical pains in my heart,” she says. “I’ve been truly sad and have never wished that justice be truly served to these heartless! Insensitive! Brutal! Unrepentant rapists!!!

“Cos I have been there, I know what it does to the mind and self-esteem of the victim. It was with an ex-boyfriend and a spiritual leader I trusted. Took me meeting another man who saw me for me before I healed completely. Sadly I couldn’t end up with him, but God used him.”

Admitting that men also get raped, BamBam called on all to love one another.

She said: “Be kind to women, some men have been raped too. Truly be kind to people, you don’t know what true love and true transfer of kindness love and light can do to another person. I’m in tears as I type cos it hurts really bad just remembering and knowing how victims feel.

“Cos when you take the body of another without their consent you mentally scar them too! Yo! I trust God and want to trust the law to do the needful!

“I tried not to relate this to my personal self but when you hear experiences you lived, you become restless, memories hunt you. I have been refreshing all the updates on the movement/protest for tomorrow.

“Something in my head keeps ringing would justice be served this time? Another is hoping and praying that it is truly SERVED rightly! I cannot overemphasize how a win for Busola will be victory for all!”

Actor Akah Nnani has declared that he is no longer a member of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly after head pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo was accused of rape.

The actor also called on all members of the church who have a conscience to boycott the church until the matter is resolved.

According to Akah Nnani, it took him quite some time to face the facts but now that he has finally seen the light, he will not sit by and watch innocent people be destroyed by the pastor.

He also mentioned that there are a number of powerful church leaders around Pastor Fatoyinbo who are protecting him from the law.

In his post on Instagram he wrote:

“After watching @busoladakolo account, I believed her 100%. But I was advocating for proper procedures of getting justice on this matter because of reasons best known to me.

Again, I was still in shock too. I admit, I still am in shock. I’m also not a fan of jungle justice or court of pubIic opinion because I suffered it in secondary school wrongfully.

But after the behaviour of the church organisation today on this matter, not just the pastor, there is no need.
It is shameful for me to call myself a member of that church.

A friend said to me “his moves are like that of Pablo Escobar”. I couldn’t help but agree. It has taken me time, but I am finally here.

We will say it for what it is. Until facts state otherwise, Pastor @biodunfatoyinbo is a rapist.

There is a syndicate around him that protects him, and this involves Pastor Flo of Lagos Church, Pastor Wole of PH parish, church staff, other ministers and I dare say, his wife.

I am no longer a member of that church. I call on every one who has a conscience to boycott @cozaglobal.

Thank you to every Nigerian fighting. Thank you to every celebrity using their voice. You understand that your influence is not for you. Thank you. I drew strength from your voice.

We continue to pray for him that God will touch his heart to own up to his cri nomes and the light of God to expose everyone involved in the syndicate.

I stand with Busola Dakolo, I stand with every woman who has been raped. I stand against rape and rape culture.

I stand against the rot in the church. @timidakolo I am 100% with you. #istandwithbusoladakolo

I rest my case on this matter now.

Let the place scatter!!”

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sapphire Group and member of COZA church Wale Jana has apologised after he accused singer Timi Dakolo and wife, Busola Dakolo of strategically defaming his pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.

Busola in an interview with Chude Jidenowo on Friday accused the man of God of raping her when she was only 17-years-old.

According to her, Pastor Fatoyinbo came to her house one morning unannounced when her mother and sisters were not around and raped her.

Moments after the interview gained prominence, Wale Jana mounted a strong defence for his pastor while alleging that Busola and her husband fabricated the rape story to push their products.

He said: “I know the world gets emotional the moment a woman mentions that she was raped but if you will take a minute to think objectively; the oldest way a woman can try to destroy a man is to accuse him of rape. Any man is guilty of this offence in the eyes of the public until otherwise and if she has a little social status like the wife of a struggling musician like @timidakolo it makes it look credible.”

He continued: “Why is she doing this? Timi and wife are a pawn in a conspiracy and also because it will help him sell some records which he desperately needs to sell, they will also trend for a while, she has already opened unbroken.ng an online platform to cash in on the drama just like @esewalter and then it’s over!”

Wale’s remark was vehemently criticised by a section of the public. After a sober reflection, the COZA church member has rendered an unqualified apology.

His Instagram post reads:

“There has been a lot of misunderstanding due to my earlier post and Its important to clarify that I DON’T SUPPORT RAPE! I am a father of two lovely daughters and a beautiful wife.

“I am surrounded by women; Sapphire Group is made up of close to 1000 women and we have done a lot for women empowerment and will continue to do so. I apologise to everyone my previous post has offended as it is insensitive to victims of rape. Pastor

“Biodun Fatoyinbo has also come out to refute the allegations leveled against him, it is now a legal matter and the truth will come to light.

“Please accept my apologies and I will be more sensitive in the future.”

Businessman Wale Jana has slammed wife of Timi Dakolo, Busola for accusing COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo of rape.

Wale Jana, who is a member of Pastor Biodun’s COZA church, Busola and Timi are accusing the pastor because they want to destroy him.

“I know the world gets emotional the moment a woman mentions that she was raped but if you will take a minute to think objectively; the oldest way a woman can try to destroy a man is to accuse him of rape,” he wrote on Instagram.

He also alleged that Timi Dakolo wants to use false accusations to sell records as he is currently struggling in his music career.

“Any man is guilty of this offence in the eyes of the public until otherwise and if she has a little social status like the wife of a struggling musician like @timidakolo it makes it look credible.

“Why is she doing this? Timi and wife are a pawn in a conspiracy and also because it will help him sell some records which he desperately needs to sell.”

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has also jumped to the defence of Biodun Fatoyinbo, Pastor of the Common Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), over rape allegation by Busola Dakolo.

However, Omokri stated that Mrs. Dakolo’s story did not add up and strong enough to nail the pastor.

In a thread of tweets on his verified Twitter page, Reno said, “I have NEVER liked Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA for reasons that I will not say publicly. However, I am mature enough to divorce my emotions and be led by logic. And I counsel those now condemning him to do the same.

“The average Black African is easily moved to hysteria by excitable emotions. This is why it is RIDICULOUSLY easy to manipulate Africans with the media Satan does his best work with such people, who can’t suppress emotion in preference to logic.

“Think. Don’t emote. A pastor comes to your house early in the morning. He does not know who will open when he knocks, or who is at home. He knocks and immediately you open he pushed you to a chair and raped you in your pyjamas. Do people think?

“Even the most USELESS movie director won’t accept such a plot in a B rated Hollywood/Nollywood/Bollywood movie. A movie has to have PLAUSIBILITY. I don’t like pastor Fatoyinbo, but I won’t suspend my intellect because of my dislike of the fellow.

“After he allegedly raped her, she kept quiet for enough time for him to go to his car and get a soda drink for her? It does not ADD UP. My dislike for Biofun Fatoyinbo won’t make me become a SLANDERER by default. This story rings very FALSE.”

Omokri added that though he did not support immorality and rape, the story could not stand up in court.

He also warned Christians to be wary of the plot by the devil to manipulate the minds of Christians.

“I am an advocate of morality. For years, I publicly preach against premarital and extramarital sex. I pastored a congregation in Abuja for years. I will NEVER, EVER, support RAPE. But Satan is going about like a roaring lion seeking whom to consume!

“Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo is SLEEK. Too sleek for my liking. What type of sleek man will rape an underaged girl in HER PARENTS HOUSE? While HER SIBLINGS are AT HOME. And then leave her to go get a drink from his car. Is this mass HYPNOSIS?

“Do we Black African of the Nigerian variety think at all? Do we only exist in the soulish realm? I have a Masters in Law from England. The story CANNOT stand up in court. The story CANNOT stand up in the light of cross-examination.

“I give you my word that if you gave satan 10 minutes to manipulate the minds of Nigerians, he will get a sizeable number of Nigerians to believe that Jesus is evil and the Satan is good. We are too gullible, excitable and emotional. #ForTheBodyOfChristNotForFatoyinbo.”

There has been several allegations and accusations of sexual assault against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, but it has mostly been from third parties.

But one of his alleged victims Busola Dakolo is opening up about how it happened the first time.

Busola is a photographer, and wife to singer Timi Dakolo, who has also criticised an “Abuja Pastor” who goes about assaulting girls.

Busola said she’s speaking up because of a social media post which accused her of promiscuity when she was a teenager, saying she was having sex with pastors while growing up in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

She said she was still in secondary school when she first met Fatoyinbo, who was heading a Divine Delight Club (a gospel club).

At this time, Busola was already vice president of her fellowship in school and what she understood Christianity to be, was different from what was happening in Divine Delight Club – she expected it to be solemn, but at the club they praised and danced and gave sermons in a more lively manner.

She felt some discomfort, but her sisters convinced her she’ll like the place.

Fatoyinbo took an interest in her after she attending the club, which her sisters were a part of, for the first time. He told her to do something in the club before she left back for school.

She decided to sing, having the rehearsals in his house. At the time Fatoyinbo was engaged to be married to his current wife.

She left for school and when she came back, the club had transitioned into Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), and her sisters had convinced her family to start attending.

Busola said she joined the choir at COZA to integrate herself into the church and maybe get rid of the discomfort she felt towards it. She said Fatoyinbo began inviting himself to her house under the guise of getting to know her better.

He kept visiting, and one Monday morning, when her mother and sisters had travelled and were absent from service the previous Sunday, Fatoyinbo arrived at her house, so early, Busola was still in her nightgown.

He didn’t say a word, she said. He forced her into a chair, removed her clothes, and raped her. Then went to his car and brought a bottle of Krest (a soft drink) and forced her to drink it.

“You should be happy that a man of God did this to you,” she quoted him as saying to her.

That was the first time.

This was around the time Fatoyinbo and his wife welcomed their first child together. Busola said she went with her sisters to church the following Sunday.

In church, Fatoyinbo’s wife, Modele asked that Busola comes to the house to take care of their baby. She refused, but her sisters convinced her to, saying it was normal for members to do so.

Fatoyinbo tried to make her sleep in the guest room, but she refused, appealing to Modele to let her sleep in the master bedroom.

The next morning, Fatoyinbo, smacked her butt, and told her: “No one ignores me.”

He ensured he drove her home that day and instead of taking her home, detoured to a secluded spot and again, raped her behind the car and on the bonnet.

When she went home, she stayed in her room for three days, and her family was worried and knew something was wrong, but couldn’t make the connection.

Fatoyinbo showed up the next Sunday to ask why she wasn’t in church and to not draw attention to herself, she went the following Sunday and kept attending. She said she left the choir after this.

Busola spoke about the rape for the first time when she visited her elder sister who had relocated to Lagos. Her sister had had a dream where she (Busola) is seen crying, with blood on a chair and Fatoyinbo smiling. She asked her to open up if anything like that had happened, and Busola narrated the sad events.

He sister told her brother and other sisters about the incident. Busola’s brother, a student of the University of Ilorin at the time, grabbed a pocket knife and took her to Fatoyinbo’s house.

One of the pastors, Wole Soetan was able to convince them to return home and that Fatoyinbo will join them later.

Him and two members came to their house and pleaded, blaming the devil for the incident. Soetan, who Busola suggests now heads the church’s Port Harcourt branch, told Busola that he’d leave the church showing that he had no tolerance for promiscuity.

She was convinced to pretend everything was normal and she kept attending the church again.

Soetan later said he couldn’t because Fatoyinbo was weak, and needed spiritual guidance.

In the following months, Fatoyinbo began organising deliverance sessions to her ‘repair’ her (Busola’s) ‘bondage’ saying him raping her was as a result of a problem they both had.

Later on she began a relationship with the pastor’s cousin and found out that Fatoyinbo was telling church members that she wasn’t ready for a relationship.

He confided in her partner, who together, they left the church.

Kaduna State High Court yesterday declared the Preaching Regulatory Bill passed by the House of Assembly illegal.

According to the court, the bill is a gross violation of fundamental human rights which guarantees freedom of association and freedom of religion.

The presiding judge, Justice D. Gwadah, said that the bill is inconsistent with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

The judge said the passage of the bill, despite the pending court proceedings and the subsisting court injunction restraining the action, “is an affront to this honourable court”.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Kaduna had instituted a case against Governor Nasiru El-Rufai, the house and the Attorney General of the state on the bill intended to issue licences to religious leaders.

Addressing newsmen after the judgment lead counsel to PFN S. A. Akani, said: “Our grave concern is that you can’t license our pastors. How many of them do you want to license? Now court has agreed with our claims. For us, we are excited and we are glad because by the time you setup a committee to issue license to people at the local government. If you don’t like my face, you won’t give me license. As far as am concerned, we have won. My clients do not need licence to preach.”
