Sterling missed a vital chance just before the break to increase England’s lead as they took the solitary one goal lead into half time.

Sweden came out determined in the second half as tgey searched for the equalizer. Berg’s header was smartly saved by Pickford before the latter denied Claesson again from a low drive after good build up by the Swedish. Dele headed past Olsen to put England two up and in pole position to reach the semi finals. Pickford was on hand again to deny Berg one more time as England were content with defending to see out the game and book a semi final spot for the first time since 1990.
