A second isolation centre is undergoing preparing in port Harcourt, the state capital of Rivers state.
The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike inspected the 250-bed isolation centre.
It is intended to cater for would-be coronavirus patients in Port Harcourt.
Speaking after inspecting the facility, governor Wike said the isolation centre in port Harcourt is an additional facility.
Already, there is another centre located at Eleme local government area.
The provision is preparation geared towards containing any case that may be witnessed.
Governor Wike said everything is done to ensure that the state does not record more than the already established one case.
He pointed out that there is a determination to stem escalation of covid-19 cases in the state, and assured that his administration is committed to the wellbeing of Rivers people.
Governor wike noted that the Isolation Centre has a Male unit, a female unit and an administrative complex for health professionals who will administer treatment to the coronavirus patients.
The governor also expressed appreciation to those who have partnered government with the facility to help check the spread of coronavirus in the state.
