Finally the Minimum wage has been signed by President Muhammadu Buhari and it was seen as a welcome development by a lot of people.
He said; I signed the New National Minimum Wage Bill into Law today at the State House, eight years after the last review. I would like to express gratitude to everyone who contributed to this very important task, and reiterate our commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians.
Meanwhile Governor Nyesom Wike went on to suspend 12 local government for their absence at a state function
A statement signed by the governor’s Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, indicated that the suspension took immediate effect.
Those affected are chairmen of Okrika, Emohua, Abua/Odual, Degema, Khana, Gokana, Ahoada East, Ikwerre, Eleme, Andoni, Omuma and Ogu/Bolo local government areas.
The Governor notified the Rivers State House of Assembly of the suspension of the 12 council chairmen.
Wike, in a letter to the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly titled, ‘Notice of Suspension of the Chairmen of 12 local government council chairmen,’ premised his action on Section 64 (3) of the Rivers State Local Government Law No. 5 of 2018.
Also President Buhari is saying he is “head and shoulders above” Atiku in terms of Educational Qualifications 😩

The Onnoghen matter has still not ended as Code of Conduct Tribunal has convicted the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen of breach of Code of Conduct for Public Officers. The CCT also banned Onnoghen from holding public office for the next 10 years.
Then later Justice Walter Onnoghen filed an appeal against the judgement of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
