The Executive Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) Philip Okparaji has disclosed that his administration has packaged a lot for the youths of Eleme and has pleaded with them to desist and resist crime and criminality in the area.
The Chairman made the disclosure when the Chairman of Rivers State Youth Council, Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo and his Vice, Comrade Brain Gokpa paid him a visit at the council Secretariat.
He stated that in October, the Council will be floating a skill acquisition programme that will train and empower 400 youths, 200 males & 200 females. He cautioned the youths to avail themselves of the opportunity and as well join the administration in fighting crime and criminality.
While charging the youths to develop themselves to be self-reliant, he assured them of the Council’s total support and commitment in ensuring that the companies operating in Eleme employ indigent youths, while hinting that the leaders of Eleme headed by Senator Olaka Nwogu, and the youths will lead a delegation to Indorama EPCL to assert the collective resolution of Eleme people with regards to job employment for the youths and infrastructural development for the area.
He also congratulated the President of Rivers State Youth Council, Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo and the Deputy President, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Brain Gokpa.
