The Senegal game is still very fresh in the heart of many especially for some Africans who keeps acknowledging their efforts with Poland. So this why it is still a hot Topic from our review desk;

Senegal became the first African country to win in this year Fifa world cup and caped a fine performance all round to collect all three points.
Senegal upset Poland with a 2-1 Group H victory in Moscow that owed plenty to poor mistakes from the European nation.

Poland were widely expected to qualify for the knockout rounds but after suffering a seventh loss in their last nine World Cup matches, FIFA’s eighth-ranked team are in danger of making an early exit.

Thiago Cionek’s own goal, the defender deflecting in a shot from Idrissa Gueye, handed Senegal the lead in the 37th minute.

Senegal doubled their lead when M’Baye Niang took advantage of a mix-up between Grzegorz Krychowiak and Wojciech Szczesny to finish with ease.

Adam Nawalka’s side set up an exciting finish when Krychowiak somewhat made amends for his error by heading home a Kamil Grosicki free-kick, but they could not find a late leveller.

Poland will need to make amends when they take on Colombia – who surprisingly lost to Japan on Tuesday – while Senegal have qualification for the next phase in their sights.

A slow start at Spartak Stadium saw neither side gain control of the midfield until Senegal had the first clear chance in the 18th minute, Niang dragging a poor effort wide after a break.

The African side – who shocked France on their World Cup bow in 2002, their only previous appearance – gradually started to dominate but the opening goal had a large slice of good fortune.

Patient passing produced an opportunity for Gueye, albeit his 20-yard strike took a huge deflection off Cionek to wrong-foot Poland goalkeeper Szczesny.

Nawalka sent on Southampton defender Jan Bednarek at half-time – Jakub Blaszczykowski making way on his 100th international appearance – as Cionek’s own goal ensured Poland’s 32-year wait for a clean sheet at the World Cup goes on.

Poland captain Robert Lewandowski was Europe’s top scorer in qualifying with 16 goals but when he stepped up to float a 25-yard free-kick over the wall, Khadim N’Diaye acrobatically dived to turn the ball away.

A much-improved Poland continued to threaten and Lukasz Piszczek should have hit the target with a volley at the back post from a deep right-wing centre from Maciej Rybus.

But while the Senegal first was unlucky for Poland, they were architects of their own downfall for the decisive second, handing Niang his first international goal on the hour mark.

Krychowiak needlessly hooked a high ball back towards his own goal from inside the Senegal half and with Szczesny attempting to intercept by coming out of his penalty area, Niang gleefully knocked the ball into an unguarded goal.

Arkadiusz Milik should have got Poland back in the game but he slotted a perfect Piszczek cross wide at the near post.

Dawid Kownacki’s headed attempt was easily saved late on by N’Diaye but the goalkeeper was beaten by Krychowiak’s well-placed header with five minutes to go.

Yet Senegal held on to their advantage in a nervy finish, leaving the Euro 2016 quarter-finalists with plenty to do if they are to qualify from a suddenly wide-open group.

Which it’s still very open but will be determined in the next game for sure.

Last night a tragic incidence happened in Ojulegba, Lagos state where a tanker fell off from the Ojulegba bridge which killed and injured many.

As usual Nigerians are very angry, I mean very angry because this is not the first time such is happening. Read some of their statements below;

This person said; “Just saw news of yet another avoidable truck accident on Ojuelegba. It’s just sickening when you hear about these things!

Is government really that powerless that i cannot put these truck owners and drivers in their place?

We might as well make the truck drivers the govt!”

This other person stated; The ojuelegba mishap is a constant reminder that we have a Government that never learns from mistakes or holds anyone responsible when human lives are lost.

Another said; What is more unfortunate than the incident itself is that the Lagos State Government erected metal barriers at both ends of that bridge & the other one that links Ojuelegba to Fadeyi.

Guess who removed it? OUR OWN PEOPLE!!!

But honestly speaking who do we blame, Government or the people???

All we want is let the African teams keep winning like Senegal but that didn’t just go well for Egypt and it’s quite sad. This is what I think about the Russia vs Egypt game;

Egypt came into this game after losing their first game in Russia to group favorites Uruguay and for the first time since the champions league final against real madrid Mohammed Salah started for the Egyptian side to give them more threat up front.

However, the damage had already been done in a 15-minute blitz from Russia early in the second half, Ahmed Fathy’s own-goal opening the floodgates.

Russia took full advantage of the moment of good fortune, Denis Cheryshev and Artem Dzyuba netting in the space of three minutes to put Russia in complete control.

Despite his struggles, Salah was rewarded for his resilience when he was fouled by Roman Zobnin – VAR overturning the referee Enrique Caceres’s initial decision to award a free-kick on the edge of the area.

The Liverpool star duly converted from the spot but it could not kick-start a comeback, and while Russia’s place in the last 16 will be confirmed should Uruguay beat Saudi Arabia, Egypt look set to fall out at the first hurdle.

Russia wasted no time in carrying on where they left off in their opening victory – Sergei Ignashevich heading at Mohamed El-Shenawy before Aleksandr Golovin fired wide.

Egypt weathered the storm, though, and Trezeguet very nearly took advantage of the extra space created by Salah’s presence when he curled just wide from the edge of the box.

Cheryshev went close to taking his tally for the tournament to three moments later, but El-Shenawy ensured the winger’s strike did not dip in under the crossbar.

Salah’s moment looked set to arrive in the 34th minute, but Yuri Zhirkov ensured he was in the right place to prevent the forward connecting with Mohamed Shafy’s deflected cross.

Zhirkov could do nothing to prevent Salah’s next effort, however, as he spun clear of the experienced defender and sent a wicked strike inches wide of the target.

Any Egypt momentum was punctured two minutes into the second half, though.

El-Shenawy’s poor punch put Egypt under pressure, and Zobnin’s first-time follow up spun in off the unfortunate Fathy, with VAR confirming that Dzyuba had not fouled his opponent.

Salah was presented with a glorious chance to restore parity with 56 minutes gone, only to hesitate, allowing Mario Fernandes to intervene.

Fernandes soon made a key contribution at the other end too, driving into the box before supplying a neat cut-back for Cheryshev to slot home Russia’s second.

Dzyuba got in on the act with a fantastic turn and finish to send the crowd into raptures, though Zobnin’s clumsy pull-back at least enabled Salah to get himself a World Cup goal.

Still, his effort came in a losing cause for Egypt, with the hosts making it two wins from two to close in on a place in the next round.

How did the holiday just come to an end though? i know some of us would have wanted it much longer because of steady light…..

Now lets gist; Everyone in Nigeria keeps complaining, no light and that we want light but we should ask our self this question, are we prepared for constant light in Nigeria. When power becomes constant in Nigeria, it will be a start of a new era and no one will need to tell us that there is constant light in the country because we will see it literally, but are we all going to like what we see.
Now imagine this scenario, light becomes constant across all states in Nigeria, starting from tomorrow what will happen ? Firstly everybody will jump up and celebrate, and after that what happens next well let us just say “after the reggae play the blues” starting from tomorrow anyone who has generator mecahanic workshop it is over for them, no one would bring gen for servicing or repairing, it is the end, no costumers, no business and traders in the business of selling generators and their parts and who would they sell to, when the light becomes constant, well no one.

So those of you in the business of generators are you prepared for coming of the light. Those of you, that are not in the business are probably saying who cares “there is light” but it will affect us all, because unemployment will
increase drastically and i don’t need to tell you what happens when there is unemployment, crime will increase, kidnapping and the rest of them, so now how prepared are you.

The petroleum sector itself will suffer a massive blow, because they will lose half of their costumers and we know one of Nigeria’s main income is petrol.

The bottom line is this, there is one thing to say we want constant light by 2020 or 2030 but are we prepared
for it, it is just like saying you want Christ to come but are you prepared for him. If they are really serious about giving us constant light they should enlighten the public about this massive shift and tell them to prepare because our entire system in Nigeria is based on no light.
Those of you in the business of generators are you preparing for this, please leave a comment.

With the way social media is expanding it is important for you to know the needful on social media like Branding and Influencing.

Below is the summary of the actionable insights by Digital Marketing expert Henshaw;

To build a strong brand and influence with lots of following on social media you don’t only need to have your brand registered on all the social media platforms that your audiences are active on, you have to:

1-    Set up and optimize your social media pages properly

I have reviewed over 30 Instagram pages and more than 40 Facebook pages and I can tell you that 8 out of 10 social media pages are not properly optimized.

If you are like me, chances are you have tried connecting with somebody on social media just search for his account forever.

When your page is not properly optimized, you make it hard for search engine to collect your data, people struggle to find you, you suffer the most from algorithm changes and platforms like Instagram and Twitter might ignore you when suggesting accounts to your potential followers, and even when they do, they will likely suggest your account to people who may not be interesting in your brand.

But when hen you optimize your pages, you:

  • Strengthen your brand
  • Generate leads
  • Get more visibility online
  • Connect with your audience

2-    Define your brand

Defining your brand and staying true to it helps you stand out from the social media noise.

You cannot market well without paying premium attention to branding.

I cannot count how many times I have struggled to remember a friend’s Instagram and Twitter handle. Now what if I wanted to give that friend a business? Well, I wee not go and kii myself, I will go to the nearest option.

Your brand identity is very important. My username is “Henshawjacobson” everywhere.

If you are a girl and your username is something like, “mhizsexyjane”, I wouldn’t wait for the angel to come and tell me that you are a wannabe slay mama.

So your name is Jane, your business name is Janny’s Cakes, meanwhile your social media username and activities depict a science student on a codien diet yet you are blaming the devil and Buhari’s government for not making sales. I pray sense fall on you today.

3-    Know your target audience

Not knowing your target audience and not focusing all your social media marketing efforts on your target market is the easiest way to waste your time and marketing budget online. You only market when you are targeting.

4-    Have a message, tell a story.

Here I’m talking about contents, I’m talking about storytelling. Your message is your story, your story is what is unique to your brand. Your competitors can copy your style but nobody can copy your story.

People will follow you because of your valuable contents, they will support you because of your story.

5-    Make sure your target audience see your message

It’s not enough to create contents, you need a community to share your contents with.

You have to constantly grow your following and take advantage of Facebook and Instagram ad to amplify your voice so more people can hear your story. If you produce more of visual contents, you should treat Youtube advert like fuel in Nigeria during Christmas.

6-    Motivate your target audience to take actions

Everybody on social media needs to be motivated in one way or the other to take actions. Give people more reasons to follow you, support you and buy from you.

Use  freebies, lead magnets, anything that will encourage them to take actions that add value to your brand. Think like a typical Nigerian pastor when it’s offering time.

7-    Measure your efforts and review your strategy

I know some expert will tell you to be consistent. I tell you to be consistent with your brand, be consistent with what is giving you results.

Take time to analyze your effort and treat any strategies and tactics that’s not helping you to reach your goal like EBOLA.

8-    Follow the first social media marketing consultant

you should have reached out to before taking your business online @Henshawjacobson. And make sure you keep your eyes on my pages for social media marketing TIPS, free TRAINING and hard to find marketing strategies.

9-    Don’t try to do it all yourself, involve an expert.

  • Needless to remind you that Buhari has 156kfollowers on IG but he does not know his account password. He would probably spell Facebook as FIRST BOOK.
  • What am I saying? You don’t need to be a social media pro to build a strong brand on social media, just have a budget and hire an expert to work with you.
